There is a frequent bus service along the main road to Puerto Banus, Marbella, San Pedro, Estepona, and even further; there are coach excursions too. One hour in a hire car a car will take you to Gibraltar or Ronda, famous for its gorge and ancient bull ring. Granada, Jerez and Seville are each a little over 2 hours away - and the ferry to Morocco from Algeciras makes a great day trip.
